The Existence of Nothing, (aka Zero)

How can we name a discoverer of zero? Zero was discovered when some semi-intelligent creature realized that his food wasn't there. Zero is nothingness, so we cannot name an inventor. The idea of a placeholder, however, is what we should try to figure out. The actual discovery won't do anything, except maybe show who was the most intelligent race. Even though the history of zero is intriguing, it is only that.
